of Work Just about any style of wedding cake that is practical for the
Southern Ontario climate. All cakes are baked from scratch with the finest available
ingredients. This means that a large variety of cake flavours is possible. Cakes
can be covered with buttercream (weather permitting!) , rolled fondant or chocolate
and decorated in a manner chosen by the couple. Hand made sugar (gumpaste)
flowers, fresh flowers (in conjunction with your florist), fresh berries, fresh
or sugared fruit can all be used to complete the design of the cake. Trends Single
serving mini cakes as primary dessert or as a bomboniere are available but do
expect to pay substantially more than the average cost of a slice of wedding cake. Wedding
cake shaped shortbread cookies decorated to match the main cake are also available
and make a great gift for younger guests or as a bomboniere for all guests. Pricing A
number of factors are taken into consideration when pricing wedding cakes. Think
of it in terms of a car repair bill. On one side is the cost of parts (materials)
used and on the other is the time spent on the job. In order to give a rough idea
of prices, you can approximate FROM $4.00 a person served TO $20 a person served.
So a cake to serve about 100 pieces can range from $400 to $2,000. |
